AMD joins tech companies like Micron and SK Hynix that did it this year, and NVIDIA, which hit the mark in 2023.
TJ Denzer September 21, 2026 12:22 PM AMD 1AMD has further solidified itself among the big leagues of technology this week as its market capitalization moved across the $1 trillion mark following a streak of several positive days in the stock.
AMD reached its $1 trillion market cap milestone in the midst of intraday trading today, as reported by CNBC. It was up over $610 per share, marking the fifth day in a row the stock has been positive. AMD joins companies like SK Hynix and Micron in the tech industry, which also reached $1 trillion market caps this year, though it still runs behind chief competitor NVIDIA, which accomplished the feat in 2023 and is now sitting around a market cap of about $5.4 trillion.
AMD was down at the end of July 2026 and beginning of August, particularly following its Q2 2026 earnings results despite beating expectations. CEO Dr. Lisa Su shared on the conference call that the company expects a “softer PC market” in the back half of its 2026, but the company has continued to ride high on the back of its AI products and business.
