Grand Theft Auto 6 fans have started reselling some limited-edition merch from Miami, and it is going for more than the $400 Collector’s Edition.
Since the middle of October, on-the-ground marketing for GTA 6 has been ramped up in Miami, Florida. Parts of the city have been given a Vice City makeover, including Miami Beach and the Miami Heat’s Kaseya Center.
The Heat are also hosting a Vice City night on November 18, but before then, a number of stores and restaurants around the arena have been tweaked to be Grand Theft Auto-themed too. That means having the opportunity to eat a real-life Burger Shot and Cluckin’ Bell.
Naturally, with limited-edition merch and giveaways being held in Miami, that has sent the FOMO skyrocketing for fans who can’t actually be there, meaning resellers can cash in.
GTA 6 resellers are selling Burger Shot packets
Used burger bags and drink cups from the Burger Shot and Cluckin’ Bell stores are included in those resales too.
Some items have hit eBay – food, obviously not included – for a few hundred dollars. One listing for the Burger Shot promotional bag sold on October 25 for $501. That is $100 more than the actual Collector’s Edition of Grand Theft Auto 6, which doesn’t come with the game itself.
Cups are listed for between $91 and $200 too, with a fries packet being listed for $55.
One of the meals at the Kaseya Center will set you back over $37, so its no surprise that resellers are trying to make some money back.
This is not the first time that resellers have jumped on similar promos. When the Los Angeles Dodgers linked up with One Piece, some resellers were arrested after offering hundreds for a free card.
Fans of the New York Yankees had similar experiences when they held a Naruto night in September.
